Quick Notes ("the Extension") is a sticky-note tool that lets you create, move, and persist notes on any webpage. This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you create (notes, their text, positions, colors, and visibility preferences) is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local).
The following data is saved on your local device:
This data is partitioned by page URL. Notes created on one website never appear on another.
You can delete individual sticky notes by clicking their × button. To remove all notes for a page, delete them manually. To clear all extension data, go to chrome://extensions, click Details for Quick Notes, then under Privacy and Security choose Clear storage. Uninstalling the Extension also removes all stored data.
The Extension requests certain Chrome permissions purely for local functionality:
storage — saves notes and preferences locally on your device.activeTab — allows the popup to communicate with the current page's content script.scripting — injects the content script into pages so sticky notes can be rendered.tabs — queries the active tab to send messages between popup and content script.<all_urls> (content script match) — lets you create notes on any webpage you visit. No permission is used to read, modify, or transmit network requests or personal information.
The Extension does not include any third-party code, libraries, or services that process user data.
If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Since the Extension does not transmit data, no notification is required.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, please open an issue on the project repository.
